Trump Tower vs. White House

He’s just been elected as the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump. In recent news there has been speculation as to where President-elect Trump and his family will reside.

With a net worth of almost $4 billion, earned primarily in real estate, Donald and Melania Trump’s 58th floor penthouse in Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue offers stunning views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline (like not even high rise buildings like this can offer)  and is valued at $100 million.  Its three stories feature floors, walls and columns covered in marble with crown molding.
The 30,000-square-foot apartment is decorated with 24-karat gold and even diamonds. It gives 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue not just a run for its money but a run for residency.

The White House in Washington D.C. has traditionally been  the home of the President of the United States and the residence of Presidential families for over 200 years and the primary workplace for the President. The White House has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams on November 1, 1800 until maybe now. In the media, there are reports of Donald Trump and his family not taking up residency at the Neoclassical and highly historic White House. There have been many changes to the White House. The most memorable would be the Kennedy restoration during the early 1960’s designed by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.

Today the group of buildings housing the presidency is known as the White House Complex. It includes the central Executive Residence flanked by the East Wing and the West Wing. The White House includes: six stories and 55,000 square feet  of floor space, 132 rooms and 35 bathrooms, 412 doors, 147 windows, twenty-eight fireplaces, a tennis court, a bowling alley (officially called the Harry S. Truman Bowling Alley), a movie theater, a jogging track, a swimming pool, a putting green and home to numerous precious pieces of art.

So, Trump Tower, a New York City luxury residential apartment – oops penthouse or the regal and historic White House in Washington DC…? Living in luxury apartments in NYC and the Presidential Palace are both a dream come true. But besides being a dreamer, savvy businessman, profitable investor and philanthropist, Mr. Trump is a husband and father.

His son Barron is 10 years old and Trump Tower has been his home his entire life (other than staying at his Dad’s other properties like Mar-a-lago, the 126-room, 110,000-square-foot estate in Palm Beach, Florida). I couldn’t blame him for wanting to stay in his lifelong home, and his father wanting the best for his son…and his wife, Melania. Besides, it’s only a 40 minute helicopter ride from NYC to the White House grounds. And what’s wrong with having to live in either one of these beautiful residences?! Wherever Donald J Trump is, he will still be President (-elect) of the United States of America making America great again.
